Books to Note – Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World by Michael Hyatt

Platform by Michael HyattIf you’re at all aware of what’s going on in the Christian Publishing space, you’ve no doubt heard of Michael Hyatt. He is one of the few leaders in the space who showed a lot of enthusiasm and ownership in social media. Over the past few years, he has built up a solid following on his blog, facebook, twitter, and elsewhere. I’ve been hoping for some time that Michael would package the many things he has learned into some sort of a book or course. Well that day has finally arrived! Books to Further Your Writing in 2012

Writers also need to be readers.  I’m always on the lookout for books to improve my writing.  Here are a few recent and upcoming releases that look promising:

Need to build an author platform? Try something new.

Up and coming authors will hear a lot about needing a platform.  Your platform is comprised of all the places you exert influence and have a following.  This could be a web site, blog, writing column, Facebook fan page, etc.  A platform takes time to build and can often involve moving outside of our comfort zones.  One project I’ve taken on this year to build my platform and push me out of my comfort zone is my 2012 Goals Video Project.
